As I prefer to travel solo Morocco, at first, seemed to me a bit challenging. I don't speak French and expected not to find many people to communicate with, especially at budget friendly hostels I chose to stay. Commuting inside the country was also a little unclear, I read reviews from travelers who had experienced difficulty getting around. Of course I was mostly wrong. Determined to visit the Sahara (as every trip to Morroco should), I hired Ayoub for a four day, three nights tour of the desert. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Ayoub knows the country, he was attentive, funny, also knowledgeable. With Ayoub,The region into the desert came alive and it all made sense, helped me understand how these people really are! I would like to return to Morroco, when I do, will definitely be seeing Ayoub for a few days again!

Maricarmen Collazo

Larbi was my guide from Marrakesh to the Sahara Desert (Erg Chigaga) for 3 days. He carries all the skills of a highly professional guide. First he is formally licensed and has gone through years of training and certification. Then, nomadism is not something he learnt, it is something he is. He was born and lives in the Sahara and therefore knows the geographies, the languages, the people, and the cultures in a granular detail. When my GPS stopped being reliable, Larbi manoeuvred in the boundless desert as if I was in Piccadilly Circus. He is also very keen to share his knowledge, not in a flamboyant way describing the desert too romantically or with embellishment, but in a practical and sensitive manner. While moving around, he knows what can be done and what is too risky. His personal life story is also tour-deserving from being born in a nomad family and being a camel herder, to holding a Master's in Political science and finally running his independent travel company.
